Empower Me is a nonprofit organization located in Ferguson MO authorized by the Social Security Administration to provide representative payee services to Social Security beneficiaries throughout Missouri and some parts of Illinios.

As a representative payee, Empower Me receives monthly benefit payments on behalf of beneficiaries who do not have an approved family member or friend who can serve as payee.

Through a fiduciary relationship, Empower Me uses beneficiaries' benefit payments to meet their basic needs of shelter, food, clothing and medical expenses not covered by insurance; as well as needs that are not considered life sustaining, but impact quality of life, such as, transportation, grooming and entertainment.

Empower Me's aim is to decrease the high rates of poverty and improve the quality of life for our clients by focusing on their environmental vulnerabilities.

Empower Me’s duty is to provide fiduciary supports that help individuals lead financially healthy, independent lives marked by improvements in material living conditions, health and wellness outcomes and leisure and social interactions.

Empower Me’s staff has over 20 years of experience advocating and providing direct care to vulnerable high needs populations.

We have worked with individuals from all cultures, backgrounds, ethnicities and identities and have a high degree of cultural awareness, tolerance and sensitivity.

Empower Me’s staff is committed to using our knowledge skills and abilities to increase access to resources, create opportunities and promote social and health equity for disadvantaged populations.
